Hello! I’m Demetria Gilkey — a Christian speaker and author helping women find hope after disappointment, navigate life transitions, and walk confidently in their God-given purpose.
I’m based in Louisville, Kentucky, where I live with my husband, Aaron — my college sweetheart from Western Kentucky University — and our daughter, Bellamy. Family is one of my greatest joys, and I cherish the everyday moments we share together.
My journey has been shaped by unexpected doors closing in areas I deeply desired — including teaching opportunities, law school, and broadcast news roles. In those seasons, I learned that rejection is not the end of the story and that what feels like a detour is often God’s direction.
Before stepping fully into ministry and speaking, I spent years in cosmetology and business ownership, which shaped my ability to connect with people from all walks of life and strengthened my passion for authentic communication.
I hold degrees in Marketing, Mass Communications, and Theology with a concentration in Biblical Studies. I was licensed to preach the Gospel in 2024 and currently serve in women’s ministry at Elim Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky.

Through speaking and storytelling, I help women who have experienced disappointment, setbacks, or life transitions find hope again, dream again, and walk confidently in their purpose. My message is simple: God is not finished, and your story is still unfolding.

Today, my message is centered on encouraging women to:
- Rediscover hope and purpose — reconnecting with the dreams, gifts, and calling God has placed within them, even after seasons of delay, disappointment, or discouragement.
- Rebuild confidence through faith — learning to replace self-doubt with courage, resilience, and a renewed understanding of who they are in Christ.
- Embrace clarity in identity and purpose — being reminded that God still has a plan, even when life feels uncertain or the path forward feels unclear.
- Step forward in faith and obedience — choosing to trust God again, take the next step, and walk boldly in the life He is calling them into.
Through speaking, writing, and real-life storytelling, the message is simple: God is not finished with your story. Even in disappointment and transition, He is still writing, still restoring hope, and still leading you into purpose.
